La Feliz Montana, (Happy Mountain), is a river ranch developed as a horse training and breeding facility. It is located twenty-six miles downstream from the world famous Ruidoso Downs and Ruidoso, New Mexico. Access is U. S. Highway No. 380, four miles northwest of the U. S. 70/380 road junction and just six miles downstream from the historic territorial riverside Village of Lincoln. The entrance is well marked with a stone fence entry leading to a dramatic bridge river crossing the Rio Bonita.

La Feliz Montana is comprised of 200 acres, more or less, to include 13 acres of adjudicated water rights. The bubbling Rio Bonita traverses the property for approximately one mile. This is one of the largest river fronts available anywhere in Lincoln County. The water rights are transferable and are diverted from two shallow wells equipped with submersible pumps.
Elevation of the training and breeding facility is approximately 5,400 feet. Native
vegetation includes grasses, junipers and piñon. Along the river are many willows,
walnuts and cottonwood. Wildlife includes mule deer and many birds.
Improvements are specifically designed to support horse training and breeding. The metal frame enclosed breeding barn has 56 stalls, viewing area, foaling stalls, phantom mare area and lab. Nearby is a 20-stall training barn with runs, 12-stall stallion barn with office, 10-mare motel with runs. There is a 5/8-mile training track with four-horse starter gate, two round pens and horse walkers. Supporting this cast of improvements are feed storages, hay barn and shed and machine shop. The ranch has a lighted roping/cutting arena, seventeen horse pastures with water and loafing sheds and several miles of welded steel pipe and horse wire fencing.
Staff facilities include a three-bedroom, two-bath site built residence and two 3-bedroom,
2-bath 1990 and 1993 model mobile homes.
